I shoot currently a 2011 Hoyt Rampage bow and it has a 7 inch brace height. A lot of times I struggle to make tight groups, but my friend brought down his Bowtech Destroyer 350, with a 6 inch brace height and noticed absolutely no difference. In fact, I actually shot better groups at 20 yards with his bow than I do my own.

Mathews have always been a little lighter but top heavy and the Z7 was no exception, but better than bows of the past. Hoyt always seems to have a better balance and general feel and they finally got the weight down. Both bows were set up vitually the same, maxed at 60 lbs and 28" draw.

I shoot 80% because I have plans to hunt Colorado, but I can definitely tell the difference between 65 and 80% letoff. At 80% letoff the length of my beard can impact accuracy. I tend to favor hoyt bows but given the same choice I’d choose the Mathews. I had a vertix and it was a great bow, I’ve shot the torrex and they’re nice, not Mathews flagship nice but very nice.
